We are absolutely thrilled to announce the opening of the new, stunning Ivy Asia restaurant in Tunsgate Quarter, Guildford.

This restaurant, arranged over two levels with fabulous views over Guildford Castle, is situated on the prominent corner of Tunsgate and Castle Street, adjacent to their existing 9,800 sq ft restaurant which has been a huge success since opening in 2017.

Upon entering the venue, the breath-taking interior stands out with its pink and green semi-precious stone floors, sweeping staircase to the main restaurant level and, standing in the centre of the room is an amazing ornamental cherry blossom tree which hangs over part of the seating area.  It is a wonderful space to relax and enjoy the Asian, mouth-watering culinary delights on offer.

With award winning Gail’s, Cosy Club and Pho adding to the restaurant offer, Tunsgate Quarter also offers a premium selection of retail outlets which include Oka, Loaf, The White Company, Nespresso, Seasalt and Bobbi Brown.  We do have opportunities to join the line-up and please contact either Andrew Shepherd or Tim Butterfield for further information.

 

AS Retail are excited to announce that last week our clients, Gong Cha, opened its latest outlet in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. The unit totals 1,400 sq ft and sits adjacent to Tesco Express on Creek Road, close to the eclectic covered market and Cutty Sark DLR Station.

Gong Cha are also scheduled to open their next site in Nottingham shortly – situated as part of Exchange Arcade the unit is duel fronted facing Primark and the busy pitch of Long Row, close to prime Clumber Street. Our clients are also about to begin fitting out their third store of the year in Leeds where they have acquired the former Caffe Nero on Merrion Street, being the prominent unit at the entrance to The Merrion Centre.

Gong Cha was founded in 2006 and they are today one of the most recognised bubble tea operators in the world with over 1,500 stores globally.

AS Retail advised Gong Cha on all three acquisitions. Lewis Craig acted for the landlord of Greenwich, Box Property acted for the landlord in Nottingham and Savills acted for the landlord of the Leeds site.

We are excited to announce that the newly improved Budgens is welcomed back to Egham and is the first store to opens its doors in the beautiful, mixed-use development scheme at Magna Square.

The unit, totalling 3,400 sq ft of space over ground floor only, sits on a prominent corner on High Street and Station Road North, linking to the main boulevard of the development.  Trading 24/7, it will be a great addition to the town and frames the entrance to Magna Square.

Three of the remaining four spaces are now under offer with only one restaurant unit now remaining – it is a superb space of 3,300 sq ft, with three sides of frontage, pavement seating (subject to licence) and sits directly opposite the new four screen Everyman Cinema.

We are delighted to welcome Hugo Mackichan to the AS Retail team.

Hugo joins from Rendall & Rittner having completed the undergraduate Real Estate course at Oxford Brookes University in Summer 2021.  He will be working alongside Andrew and Tim in assisting them to deliver our continued high-quality service to our clients across our portfolio.

Hugo will be primarily working with our occupational clients in their exciting acquisition programmes and asset managing their estates.  Specifically he will be working with Jetts Fitness, Cards Direct, Gong Cha, Traid and BoConcept.

AS Retail are thrilled to announce that regional Brazilian restaurant, Terra Brazil, have opened their second UK restaurant in 2,750 sq ft of space in Addlestone One.  The restaurant sits in The Lane adjacent to Esquires, The Light Cinema and in close proximity to Nandos, Smith & Western, Mooboo, Boots Opticians, Holland & Barrett and Anytime Fitness.  The development also provides a Premier Inn and Waitrose plus over 200 dwellings, 370 plus dedicated car parking spaces and the Local Council offices.

Our clients Cards Direct have secured two further stores taking the total number in their estate past 40.

With Christmas just around the corner, we are pleased to advise that they have now opened their new unit in Woking and their fit out in Leicester is advancing well. Cards Direct are an independent greetings card retailer selling a superb selection of British made cards along with gifts and accessories from their bricks and mortar stores and via their new transactional website at www.cardsdirect.co.uk.

Both deals fulfil long term requirements for these towns. In Woking they have taken the former Monsoon within The Peacocks Shopping Centre and in Leicester they have acquired the former Boots Opticians on prime Humberstone Gate, which forms part of the Haymarket Shopping Centre.
